Relay For Life turns 30 this year—thirty years ago, Dr. Gordy Klatt walked 24 hours for the fight and awareness of cancer. Relay For Life is the signature fundraising event for the American Cancer Society where we Celebrate our Cancer Survivors (anyone who has ever heard the words you have cancer—any type of cancer, any age, and no matter what type of treatment/surgery/etc.), we Remember their battles and those that we have lost, and we make the public pledge to continue to Fight Back until a cure is found. Relay funds the majority of the American Cancer Society and provides life-saving research of all cancers, local patient programs and services, as well as national patient services.
